Netflix star tapped to promote CNMI

Saipan - Lee Siyoung, an entertainer and actress in two Netflix original series, has generated over $500,000 in PR exposure value about her recent visit to the CNMI, according to Marianas. Visitors Authority.


Lee visited Saipan and Rota on Sept. 15-21 with family and friends to highlight various activities suitable for family and friend trips.


After sharing her experience in 15 posts on her official Instagram account and generating various online media coverage, as of Oct. 17 the estimated public relations exposure value of the coverage is $520,000 and growing.


Lee plays a lead character in the Netflix original fantasy series “Sweet Home,” which premiered in December 2020. Sweet Home was the first South Korean series to enter Netflix's Top 10 in the United States, reaching as high as third.


On Aug. 8, she also co-starred in the Netflick’s horror series “Zombieverse.” Lee was nominated for Best Actress in 2021 at both the Asian Academy Creative Awards and the Asia Contents Awards.


“Saipan was such a perfect place to relax with my family and expect some adventure in nature,” Lee said, who expressed special delight in her hike to Forbidden Island beach. “Saipan's natural attractions were inspiring on a different level. I would love to come back to Saipan and focus on exploring all the trekking routes on the island.”


Lee experiences a whirlwind of activities, including visits to the award-winning Managaha for board and beach snorkeling, SeaWalking and parasailing.


She also took an ATV tour, visited popular diving spot Grotto, sample standup paddling, had a marine animal encounter with SeaTouch, toured the historic and scenic sites of Marpi, and took a day tour of Rota.


“Heartbreakingly pristine nature and more stars than Saipan,” Lee said about Rota. “I still can't get over how beautiful it was. It is the best to swim in the ocean with no one around!”


Her visit was arranged by the Marianas Visitors Authority.


“As an established actress who often portrays strong, athletic characters, Lee Siyoung is a perfect person to showcase the many outdoor activities available in The Marianas,” said MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to partner with her on this promotion, and of course, we would love to have her again in our islands.”


Lee has over 3.4 million followers on her Instagram account. Her visit was covered by OSEN, Sports Chosun, Sports Korea, Herald POP, News 1, and other media outlets. Lee lodged at Saipan World Resort and Aqua Resort Club Saipan during her visit. (MVA)
