Manila-- Baguio Creative City gears up for another major event this March showcasing the infinite creativity and talent of the people of the Cordilleras, this time through filmmaking with the Montañosa Film Festival 2022.
A total of 26 fresh and original films by mostly young filmmakers from Baguio and the Cordillera region will be competing in three categories: narrative fiction, documentary and mobile film.
All finalists in the competition underwent a series of masterclasses from distinguished Filipino filmmakers giving them valuable inputs in the art and science of filmmaking.
The MFF 2022 will run from March 19 to 27 with the theme “Mindset Change for Climate Change.”
Opening gala will be at the Baguio Convention Center on March 19, with simultaneous events at the Baguio Athletic Bowl featuring food and music fest event and Malcom Square-People’s Park.
Screening of films in competition will be from March 24 to 26 in various venues in Baguio City.
A special exhibition of international films from Europe and South East Asia, and regional films from different provinces in the country shall also be held during the MFF 2022.
The MFF Closing ceremonies and Awards night will be on March 27 at the Baguio Convention Center with a special screening of Director Erik Matti’s “OTJ: Missing 8”.
