The Naval Hospital on Guam is among the U.S. military medical facilities overseas that stand to benefit from a $20.8 million contract for educational and developmental intervention services provided to military children.
The contract has been awarded to Magnum Medical Overseas JV LLC of Angleton, Texas.
The services will be provided to the Naval Hospital Okinawa, Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Naval Hospital Guam, Naval Hospital Sigonella in Italy, Naval Hospital Rota in Spain and Naval Hospital Naples in Italy.
“This is a five-year single award contract and all work is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2024,” according to the Department of Defense. “Fiscal 2019 Defense Health Program funds in the amount of $2,198,241 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.”
The service contract is in line with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act requires the Department of Defense to provide early intervention and special education services, including related services, to all eligible Department of Defense dependents at overseas locations
