Pacific Islands Club Guam has relaunched “Pirates of the Pacific,” its reimagined live-action dinner show, after a five-year hiatus.

The pirates welcomed guests to the reconstructed set during the show’s grand opening on Oct. 1.

“Pirates of the Pacific” tells the story of a treasure ship caught in a fierce typhoon and pursued by pirates, only to find itself shipwrecked on Guam. Islanders, sailors, and pirates clash in a high-energy spectacle that combines daring stunts, humor and heartfelt storytelling with a local twist.

“Pirates of the Pacific represents much more than entertainment for us. It’s a symbol of resilience,” said Ben Ferguson, general manager of PIC Guam/

PIC paused production of the show during the Covid-19 pandemic. The intermission was extended due to damage caused by Typhoon Maway in May 2023.

“Bringing back a reimagined version of our dinner show is an important step in restoring our pre-pandemic offerings and reinvesting in Guam’s position as a world-class destination," Ferguson said. We’re proud to offer a unique, family-friendly experience that both our local community and visitors will enjoy,."

PIC Guam completed the reconstruction of the dinner show theatre in six months and a redesigned new stage, complete with a pirate ship, and an overhead mast where pirates duel on tight ropes.

“Even with visitor arrivals from Japan and Korea down by nearly 50 percent, we recognize the importance of making this commitment to provide a new and exciting experience to attract visitors to Guam and support our industry’s recovery,” Ferguson said.

The resort partnered with show producer Tuffy Nicholas, known internationally for his work with the Super American Circus, to revive the dinner show with a new and exciting storyline to preserve a beloved part of PIC Guam’s identity.

“The dinner show has been one of PIC Guam’s signature attractions for years, and it was important for us to bring it back stronger than ever,” Nicolas said.

“This new version combines the excitement of live stunts with a fresh storyline and updated production value, while staying true to the family-friendly spirit of PIC,” he added.

Mario Espana, the show’s director, described the “Pirates of the Pacific” as “a big, bold and unforgettable experience that takes the energy of a classic pirate adventure and blends it with Guam’s spirit and culture.”

The show’s intention, he added, is to bring entertainment, humor and thrill to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

“The show is built around its memorable characters, spectacular stunts, and gorgeous set that will stick with you long after the show ends.” Espana said.

General admission begins at $75 for adults and $38 for children, with special rates offered to Guam residents and PIC’s in-house guests. Reservations can be made through PIC Guam’s guest services by calling 671-646-9171, with additional details available through PIC’s booking portal at picresorts.com/guam.

The grand opening of “Pirates of the Pacific” also introduces new promotions, including a special Guam resident local rate and exclusive room packages for guests who want to pair the dinner show with a stay at PIC.

The show will run six days a week (closed on Wednesdays), with dinner service beginning at 6 p.m. and the 50-minute performance starting at 7:15 p.m. Each evening show includes an island-inspired buffet of appetizers, salads and desserts and plated entrée.
