Veteran journalist Gerry Partido died of cardiac arrest early this morning. He was 56.


He was dead on arrival at Guam Regional Medical City. He tested positive for Covid-19, according to an ER physician at GRMC.


Partido was the digital editor of Pacific News Center. He began his journalism career in the Philippines, where he worked as a business reporter for the Philippine Star.


He was the managing editor of Guam Daily Post from 2014 to 2016. Before that, he was the local news editor at Marianas Variety-Guam, which also ran his weekly political column "Island Stir."


Partido was the son of the late Guam journalist Coy Partido.

I will miss you my brother Bong/Gerry. May eternal peace amd light shine upon you! RIP Bong!
