Guam's Republican Party launches 'Bank Your Vote' campaign

By Pacific Island Times News Staff

The Republican Party of Guam is seeking to make headway in this year's elections by encouraging early voting through the nationwide Bank Your Vote campaign.

“’Bank Your Vote’ will encourage, educate and activate Republican voters

on when, where and how to lock in their votes as early as possible, through in-person early voting and absentee voting,” said Shawn Gumataotao, vice chair of the territorial party.

“When Republicans vote early, we win. Bank Your Vote’ will be critical to getting Republicans to vote early or by mail to beat Democrats in November," he added.

The Republican Party of Guam, in partnership with the Republican National Committee, has officially launched the Guam Bank Your Vote website.

The national committee launched the initiative in June 2023 to encourage voters to pledge their vote, which will activate digital reminders from the RNC on all applicable pre-election day voting options.

The committee has partnered with state and territorial parties to create pages outlining pre-election day voting processes throughout the U.S. with links to state government sites where voters can request their ballot directly.

"The Bank Your Vote websites will not only inform voters, but also help them request a ballot online or by mail, register to vote, check their registration, find their early voting locations, or even find their polling place on election day," states a press release from the Republican Party of Guam.

Party officials said Guam's website utilizes resources from the Guam Election Commission and the Republican Party of Guam.

Guam's general election is slated for Nov. 5, while primaries are scheduled for Aug. 3.

Guam voters will vote for the U.S. House delegate, 15 members of the Guam Legislature and the public auditor.
