Guam Girl Scouts to mark 90th year with Tough Cookie Fun Run

The Guam Girl Scouts will celebrate a monumental milestone, 90 years of Girl Scouting on Guam, with the "Tough Cookie Fun Run: The Great Adventureful" on Sept. 14 at LeoPalace Resort.


This commemorative fun run features three race options: 1K, 2K, and 5K, with start times at 6 a.m. for the 5K and 6:05 a.m. for the 2K/1K. The 1K race will be for children ages 9 and below while the 2K and 5k routes are open to participants of all ages The 5K route will include a special four-person team competition for middle and high school students.


The “tough” course will feature an out-and-back route that has runners climbing uphill all the way back to the finish line.


Each registered runner will receive a free package of Adventureful Girl Scout Cookies to sweeten their journey. For even more fun after the race participants can sample some other Girl Scout cookie flavors and stay for the exciting raffle prizes.

Junior Achievement of Guam launches 2025–26 'Company of the Year' program


Junior Achievement of Guam officially launched of the 2025–26 Company of the Year (COY) Program, a premier entrepreneurship experience that empowers high school students to build and run their own real businesses.


The program kicks off on Sept. 8, 2025, and culminates in the COY Competition on Jan. 24, where student-led companies will compete for the title of Guam’s Company of the Year.


The top two teams from this year’s competition will earn the honor of representing Guam at the JA Asia Pacific Company of the Year Competition in South Korea, taking place in March 2026.


“We are thrilled to offer students an opportunity to turn ideas into action and develop critical life and leadership skills,” said Joshua Miller, Executive Director of Junior Achievement of Guam. “Programs like COY spark innovation, confidence, and collaboration among our youth—and we are grateful to the community partners who make it possible.”
