New restaurant to open at LeoPalace

The Tangantangan Grill at the LeoPalace Resort is set to open on June 27, with longtime Guam chef Eddie Chien putting “a fresh spin on island barbecue crafted with local ingredients and simple, thoughtful techniques."

Since graduating from the California Culinary Academy more than 30 years ago, Chien has worked with Roy’s Restaurant at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, and has owned and operated trend-setting dining ventures such as The Rotten Apple Gastro Pub in Tamuning and the Delmonico Kitchen & Bar in Tumon.
He built a following over the years based on his culinary talent, both skill and creativity, and friendly service.
Post-Covid years saw Chien working with the skilled staff at Rootz Bar & Grill in the Guam Plaza Resort & Spa. He reportedly returned to Roy’s at the Hilton in April, but has since chosen to head the team at the LeoPalace’s newest dining option.
A fresh face in Guam's beauty scene

SKN, a shop specializing in skin care products and cosmetics, had a soft opening at Concourse 1 of Micronesia Mall on June 8.
After establishing a loyal following at its Hagatna location, SKN is expanding to reach even more beauty enthusiasts. “By adding a presence at the Micronesia Mall, we’ll be able to serve our customers and even tourists from the northern region of Guam,” said Anica Mateo, co-owner of SKN.
SKN offers Korea’s most popular skincare and cosmetics brands, including Skin1004, Medicube and Anua, with guidance from trained beauty associates.
“When customers step into SKN, they’re immediately transported to a glimpse of Korea, known for its world-class skincare and cosmetics,” Mateo said.
The store’s inviting green decor, fresh and modern design creates an atmosphere where skincare shopping becomes an exciting discovery.
