Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific awarded a $289.7 million firm-fixed-price contract to Guam's joint venture, Core Tech-HDCC-Kajima LLC, for the construction of a consolidated communications center facility at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
“We are pleased to announce awarding this contract as the project significantly improves the overall effectiveness and productivity of Joint Region Marianas tenant commands,” said Jimmy Miyamoto, NAVFAC Pacific deputy operations officer.
The contract was awarded on Sept. 22.
“This investment is an important step forward, ensuring the continued success and efficiency of our mission," Miyamoto said.
Camp Blaz will be home to 5,000 Marines who will be relocated from Okinawa, Japan.
The work for this project includes the construction of a consolidated communications center facility, two warehouses and fiber communications cable.
Work is expected to be completed in March 2029.
