The Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) has announced the launch of its Qualifying Certificate Community Contribution Grant Program to provide grant funding up to $50,000 per award to not-for-profit organizations and/or government of Guam agencies toward eligible projects and programs that will benefit our island community.
“We are excited to announce GEDA’s inaugural QCCC Grant Program cycle for Fiscal Year 2020 with plans for a second cycle in the Spring of 2020,” said Melanie Mendiola, CEO/administrator.
“GEDA continues to be committed to improving the quality of life of the people of Guam through sustainable economic development. This grant program certainly aims to fulfill that goal.”
The grant application period opens on Nov. 12, 2019 and closes on Dec.16, 2019 at 5:00pm. GEDA will be accepting grant applications online or in-office for projects that must fall within one of the following seven (7) categories: (1) health care, (2) public safety, (3) higher education, (4) cultural preservation, (5) tourist attractions, (6) sports tourism, or (7) economic development.
“Community contributions are funded through QC agreements between the government of Guam and QC beneficiaries, specifically the Guam Regional Medical City and TNN Guam, dba Tsubaki Tower,” said Artemio “Ricky” Hernandez, deputy Administrator.
“Through direction and support from the GEDA Board of Directors, the QCCC Grant Program aims to create an objective process toward awarding grant funds.”
