GFS Group awarded $152 million food service subcontract

GFS Group has been awarded a HUBZone and woman-owned food service subcontract as part of the winning team selected to provide food services for the U.S. Marine Corps Regional Garrison Food Service Contract.

The subcontract is approximately $152 million over eight years with Sodexo as the prime contractor.

The re-awarded prime contract covers 47 Garrison mess halls throughout the continental United States, serves approximately 28 million meals per year for both the east and west coast regions, and is worth approximately $2 billion over eight years.

The contract commences on Oct. 1 and ends in September 2026.

"Always trying to live by ‘making the difference,’” said Dave Alcorn, GFS president, as he discusses the company's motto that probably paved the way to this opportunity that adds a third more revenues for GFS' size. “This opportunity is one of our biggest yet and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole GFS team, its leadership and former employees that kept the spirit of ‘making the difference’ a reality for 15 years now."

This is the second US contract for the GFS Group. The first contract, $23 million for seven galleys on the San Diego Navy Base, was completed last year.
