Lou Leon Guerrero claimed a tentative victory on Sunday as unofficial results of Saturday’s Democratic primary showed her leading by a razor-thin margin over Frank Aguon in the party’s four-way race for governor.
Leon Guerrero and her running mate Josh Tenorio are ahead with 8,218 votes (32.14 percent) over Aguon/Limtiaco’s 7,958 (31.12 percent). Results of absentee votes have not been counted.
If declared winner in the primary the Lou&Josh team will advance to the Nov. 6 general elections to compete for Adelup with Republican Party’s ticket, Lt. Ray Tenorio and his running mate Tony Ada, who ran unopposed.
Sen. Michael San Nicolas pulled the biggest surprise, garnering 12,456 (51.48 percent) and dislodging longtime Guam delegate Madeleine Bordallo in the congressional primary. She received 11,635 (48.0 percent). He will advance to the general elections to compete with the Republican Party's Doris Flores Brooks.
