The Guam Gallery of Art to hold face-to-face art show

The Guam Gallery of Art will be hosting an art exhibit at the Chamorro Village on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This art show marks the celebration of Chamoru Month, according to Filamore Alcon, owner of the Guam Gallery of Art.

This will be the first face-to-face art event this year since the Covid-19 pandemic hit last year, Alcon said.

The event features the works of 14 local artists, including Filamore Alcon, Tim Hanley, Akihisa Matsunaga, Monica Baza, Victoria B Sayrs, Toru Matsunaga, David Lujan Sablan, Donna Hope Blas, Vera De Oro, Matthew Cruz, Mar-Vic Cagurangan, Steve Hardy, Alejandro Lizama and Zamie Zamora.

“The last time we had an exhibit was before the Covid-19 outbreak in March last year,” said Alcon, who organized the art show at the Outrigger Resort in Tumon in celebration of the Chamoru Month last year.

The public is invited to the event. Face mask and social distancing are required. Only three people are allowed inside the gallery at a time
