Guam is beginning to see another spike in Covid-19 transmission, with a total of 63 new positive cases and three deaths since May 1.

Eleven new cases of Covid-19 were identified out of 327 tests performed Friday, May 7. Three new cases tested positive out of 450 tests performed Thursday.

Three new deaths were reported on May 4, 5 and 6, bringing to 139 the total number of coronavirus-related fatalities on Guam.

The new surge in number is presumed to be linked to the AClass Lounge and The Tsubaki Tower clusters, which had been traced to two separate Easter Sunday gatherings.

To date, there have been a total of 8,034 officially reported cases of Covid-19 with 139 deaths, 106 cases in active isolation, and 7,789 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 1.0.

The Department of Public Health and Social Services received 10,500 doses of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines on Friday, and 22,230 doses Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines today. Both shipments are part of Guam’s May allocation of 74,630 doses.
