Lou&Josh, Ray&Tony to face off at GMA debate

Where do gubernatorial candidates stand on health care issues? Find out as Republican team Lt, Gov. Ray Tenorio and Tony Ada face off with the Democratic Team Lou Leon Guerrero and Joshua Tenorio at the health care debate to be hosted by the Guam Medical Association on Oct. 18, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Guam.

“The GMA will focus solely on issues in healthcare for the entire 120 minutes. Debate starts at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the debate will be open to the public and we will broadcast it to the public also in multiple formats,” GMA said in a press release.

The Republican Team: "Indigent care; Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements; promoting healthy lifestyles; and modernizing and reaccreditation of GMH will be high priorities of the Tenorio Ada Administration. Guam's only public hospital has been underfunded for four decades. This is a travesty that Tony and I will resolve. We look forward to discussing these and other issues regarding healthcare on Guam in front of the professionals of the Guam Medical Association. We are thankful to the GMA Board and the organizers of this forum for the invitation to share our vision for providing quality healthcare on Guam.”

The Democratic Team: “Josh and I are honored to be invited to the upcoming Guam Medical Association Healthcare Gubernatorial Debate. For the past 23 months while speaking with many people, including doctors, nurses, patients, and healthcare providers, we believe that healthcare for our island needs to be improved, and continues to threaten the well-being of our children, manamko, and families. We are pleased to have this forum which will focus on this issue and be able to talk about our plan to broaden healthcare services and a direct effort to regain accreditation for the Guam Memorial Hospital.”

GMA anticipates approximately 450 in attendance, with 300 tickets to be available to the public and its distribution will be forthcoming.
