Shelton files candidacy for 35th Guam Legislature

Amanda Shelton filing

Amanda L. Shelton has officially filed her candidacy for the 35th Guam Legislature. Shelton was joined by family and friends this afternoon at the Guam Election Commission where she submitted all forms and documents to certify her as a candidate on the ballot for the Primary Election to be held on Aug. 25.

She is running under the Democratic Party of Guam banner.

Shelton kicked off her run for senator in late April when she gathered with family and friends to announce her intention to run and ask for their support. She currently works in the District Office of Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo as the Press Secretary, and previously as the Chief of Staff for the Committee on Health and Human Services in the Guam Legislature.

“I am extremely thankful to my supporters who are joining me on this journey. I have always felt a strong call to public service, and I have the courage to answer this call. If elected senator, I plan to continue embracing our island values to build our future,” Shelton said. “My platform is about helping our people, especially manamko; providing opportunities for our youth who will move our island forward; and protecting our island environment, the foundation we stand on. I am committed to serving the people of Guam and ask for their support to allow me to serve them as a senator in the Guam Legislature.”
