PAL expands Guam service

While other carriers have made significant reductions to their flight frequencies and seat capacities, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is expanding its services in Guam.

According to Bryan L. Ang , PAL’s vice president for international passenger sales, Philippine Airlines has enhanced its efforts to promote Guam as a destination in Asia, Oceania, China and Europe. “Unlike other carriers that are mainly strong to the east of Guam, PAL maintains its sustainable flights in and out of the island,” Ang said.

PAL’s flight schedule to Manila allows Guam travelers to arrive in the Philippines early and leave Manila late allowing maximum time spent in Manila.

“This is better than other full-service airlines where passengers arrive in Manila at night and incur a hotel night stay right away. At the same time PAL is better than the low-cost airline where passengers leave Manila at the unholy hour of 4:10 a.m. and arrive on Guam with red eyes,” Ang said.

Further on, the schedule allows Guam flyers to connect to the PAL network of 43 International destinations. PAL recently added a new connections to Hongkong , Bangkok and Singapore daily. These are considered the top-three destinations of Guam travelers. PAL also recently launched additional flights to Fukuoka, Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia , providing additional connections to the Guam market.

Since January, PAL has been heavily promoting London, Australia and New Zealand, Ang added.

On May 2 and 3, PAL will be part of a travel fair for military members and families organized by the Community Recreation Tickets and Travel of Joint Region Marianas. The Morale, Welfare and Recreation organization at Andersen Air Force Base and Guam Naval Base will hold their 15th Annual Travel Fair on May 2 at Sunrise Conference Center of AAFB while the May 3 travel fair will be held at Top of The Mar on Nimitz Hill. Both events will start at 4 p.m. and will be held up to 7 p.m.

Connie Moral-Meyers, PAL Guam Sales Manager said the travel fair is designed to provide the Guam military community’s travel needs. This service is open to all authorized personnel with base access.

As the only 4-star airline as rated by Skytrax, the airline review and ranking site, that is operating on the Guam-Manila route, PAL boasts that their airline was awarded one of the Most Improved Airline in the world in March as well as Best Cabin Service by different award-giving bodies.

Skytrax is the international transport rating organization using 45 global quality metrics to measure the product and service quality of flag carriers.

From the list of 100 top airlines in 2017, PAL ranked 67 and was recently listed as the 6th Most Improved Airline in the World.

“This is a testament to PAL’s commitment to bring world-class service worldwide including Guam. As a result, passengers will be more comfortable when they travel on Philippine Airlines compared to other carriers,” Ang said.
