Marching toward the Guam invasion, July 7, 1944

Unfolding events in the European theater and a tragic fire of a Ringling Brothers circus tent that killed hundreds of spectators got much more attention than the lead up to the Guam invasion on this day. Those B-29s running a bombing raid came from China, rather than their eventual bases in the Mariana Islands, which put them much closer to their targets.
