Guam today reported two new Covid-19 fatalities, raising the island's death toll to 232.
The 231st fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH) on Oct. 27. The patient was a 41-year-old female, unvaccinated. She tested positive on Oct. 27.
The 232nd death occurred at GMH on Oct. 27. The patient was a 57-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on Sept. 22.
"The heartache from this kind of loss continues as the virus continues to make itself present, and to those who are in grief, Jeff, Josh, and I extend our deepest sympathies," said Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero. "To control the spread, our community is doing all it can to get vaccinated, but we cannot forget the basics: wear your mask around others outside of your household and practice social distancing.”
Hospitalization remains stable at 50.
Today, DPHSS reported 121 new cases of Covid-19 out of 1,084 tests performed on October 26. 41 cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 17,944 officially reported cases, 232 deaths, 2,057 cases in active isolation, and 15,655 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 17.5.
