Guam reports 8 new cases

Eight new cases of Covid-19 were identified out of 308 tests performed on Wednesday, April 28. Two cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 7,959 officially reported cases of Covid-19 with 136 deaths, 84 cases in active isolation, and 7,739 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.7.

The Department of Public Health and Social Services continues to offer free Covid-19 testing to staff and patrons of A-Class Lounge and The Tsubaki Tower, two clusters recently identified by health authorities.

Today, the Guam Department of Education confirmed one case in which an individual tested positive for Covid-19. The individual has been identified as a student at Okkodo High School. GDOE, in collaboration with DPHSS, has identified and notified the individuals who were in close contact with this individual. This individual will remain in isolation until cleared by DPHSS. Areas of the school campus have been cleaned and disinfected.

The community is reminded to remain vigilant and remain home if you are sick. Keep away from others who are sick and limit face-to-face contact with others.
