Cost.U.Less to close Chalan Pago store, gears up for Haganta outlet's opening

Cost.U.Less Express Chalan Pago store will shut its doors effective March 1 in preparation for the opening of its Hagatan location later this year, its parent company, North West Company Inc., announced today.

“Since opening in 2009, the Cost.U.Less Express location has proudly served the local community, thanks to the dedication of its team members and the loyalty of its customers,” said Kevin Proctor, president, Cost.U.Less.

“We are very grateful to our Chalan Pago customers who have continued to shop with us over the years, and while we understand that the closing of the store may come as a disappointment, we are ready to continue to serve you at our Tamuning and Dededo locations.”

All employees currently working at the Chalan Pago location have been provided the opportunity to transfer to Cost.U.Less stores in Dededo or Tamuning, ensuring continuity of work and ongoing opportunities within the organization.

“We are proud that every member of our Chalan Pago team will continue their journey with Cost.U.Less, and we are grateful for the role they’ve played in serving this community for more than a decade,” Proctor said.

Cost-U-Less has been operating on Guam for over 30 years. It opened its first location in Harmon in May 1992. The Tamuning location opened in 1995.

A new, 50,000-square-foot location is scheduled to open at the Agana Shopping Center later this year.

The company described the new location as its "biggest and best location, thoughtfully designed to reflect customer feedback and deliver an even better shopping experience."

North West Company said the Hagatna store will offer an expanded assortment and greater convenience.

“Our investment in the new Agana location reflects our ongoing commitment to Guam,” Proctor said. “While we say thank you to the Chalan Pago community for many great years, we are focused on continuing to serve our customers across the island and delivering an even better shopping experience.”
