Aydlett Brothers' tower project nearing completion
Landon and Brandon Aydlett will begin construction
on the toy timber version of Dubai’s One Za’abeel tower
at noon on Sept. 24 in the Center Court at the Agana Shopping Center.
The One Za’abeel is a record-setting tower, holding the Guinness World Record for the longest cantilever building, with its structure called “The Link.” This project will be the Aydlett Brothers’ most complex tower, to date, using around 100,000 toy timber logs. However, the Aydlett Brothers will not seek a new Guinness World Record with this construction.
The Aydlett Brothers will build daily at the Agana Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a target completion date set for Oct. 3.
Should inclement weather occur during this time, the brothers will postpone construction to tend to operational duties at the National Weather Service. Construction would then resume with extended hours to meet the target date.
The community is welcome to volunteer during shopping center hours to assist with the construction, particularly between Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.
This tower project, the seventh since the Tower for Humanity’s beginning in June 2022, will host the third Annual island-wide Cans for Humanity
Food Drive and charity event to support Be Heartfelt.
