Atkins Kroll launches new Toyota Prius

By Pacific Island Times News Staff

Atkins Kroll rings in a new age of hybrid technology with the completely redesigned 2023 Toyota Prius—the stimulating fifth generation of Toyota’s premier hybrid vehicle.

The Toyota Prius was first introduced worldwide in 2000 and was the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle as part of Toyota’s efforts to combat air pollution and global warming. Today, with Toyota’s goal to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve carbon neutrality on a global level by 2050, the technology behind the 2023 Prius is more advanced than ever and takes the brand a step further to realizing its mission.

As the most fuel-efficient Prius yet, the hybrid has an EPA-estimated 57 miles per gallon combined fuel economy rating. With a larger 2.0-liter engine and improved hybrid system, the Prius delivers 60 percent more horsepower than its previous generation.

With the preceding Prius’ 121 horsepower, the 2023 Prius’ 194 net horsepower is a major improvement. Additionally, maximum engine torque increased by 16 percent with 139 lb.-ft. on all trim levels. The engine works in tandem with two electric motors, producing responsive performance while energy is efficiently utilized.

The Prius is equipped with four driving modes for maximum efficiency: Normal, Eco and Sport as well as a solely electric EV mode for short distances.

Redesigned from the ground up, the Prius has a sleek and futuristic coupe-like body and now sports larger wheels. The Prius’ interior is modern and inviting with a top-mount Multi-Information Display located in front of the driver for easy access without distracting the driver from the road. Also offered are a seven-inch LCD display with speedometer and ambient lighting as a premium touch. Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture C-segment (TNGA-C) platform, the 2023 Prius has a wider stance and lower driving position for a greater level of comfort and handling.

Ever advancing, Toyota presents its latest safety features with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0) which comes standard with the Prius. A new safety feature is the Proactive Driving Assist which uses the vehicle’s camera and radar to deliver gentle braking into curves or gentle braking and/or steering to assist with the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist ahead of you. Enhanced features include the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Emergency Driving Stop System. The latter has been added to Lane Tracing Assist designed to stop the vehicle if it detects that the driver is unresponsive to take control of the vehicle.

“The all-new 2023 Prius is truly ‘The Hybrid Reborn.’ As the most fuel-efficient Prius yet, we are excited to offer the island a reliable and progressive vehicle that drives the future of the automotive industry as it places greater focus on environmental impact. The Prius is an ultra-modern, fun and responsible car that appeals to all,” said Tom Mazzei, Atkins Kroll sales director. (Atkins Kroll)
