GRMC’s “Dare to Care Challenge” Benefits Island Homeless

(Press Release) In the spirit of the season GRMC employees collected 1,171 articles of food, clothing, hygiene products and other useful items for the island’s homeless.

All the items were donated to Catholic Social Services for the San Jose homeless shelter in Dededo.

“Catholic Social Services appreciates the community support from the Guam Regional Medical City for the donation for homeless program,” said Executive Director Diana Calvo. “In kind donations like those provided by GRMC are a big help as we work with individuals and families to address the various barriers to their stable housing situation. GRMC Customer Relations Manager Joy Garcia said “The Dare to Care challenge will be an annual event here at GRMC. It is our way of showing we care.”

The “Dare to Care Challenge” called on various departments not only to collect as many donations as they could, but to come up with the most creative container to place their donations in. The donations are pictured below with GRMC staff and representatives from Catholic Social Services.
