The Department of War today announced a $15 billion multiple award contract to individual companies and joint ventures, including two from Guam, for defense projects for Guam and other areas within the jurisdiction of the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific.
The contract is shared among Black Construction-Tutor Perini JV, Core Tech-HDCC-Kajima LLC, both joint ventures are from Guam; with BL Harbert International LLC of Alabama, Conti Federal Services LLC of Florida, ECC Expeditionary Constructors LLC of California; Gilbane Federal JV of Rhode Island, Granite-Obayashi 3 of California; Hensel Phelps Construction Co. and Nan Inc., both headquartered in Hawaii, and SLSCO Ltd. of Texas.
A multiple award contract allows a government agency to award contracts to two or more pre-qualified vendors under a single solicitation, enabling them to compete for specific orders for the same or similar products or services as their needs arise.
This approach promotes competition, ensures fair and reasonable pricing, provides flexibility for agencies to choose the best vendor for a specific task, and streamlines the procurement process by having a pool of approved contractor
SLSCO Ltd. is awarded a $41.8 million firm-fixed-price task order for the construction of a low-rise school-age center facility at Andersen Air Force Base and is expected to be completed by August 2028.
