Colonia, Yap-- The Federated States of Micronesia Congress has lifted travel restrictions and quarantine requirements imposed on countries other than China.
Included in the lifting of restrictions set forth in response to the outbreak of Coronavirus, are those travelers coming into FSM from other countries, states or territories where there are confirmed cases of the Coronavirus. The travel ban was initially included in the Public Health Emergency Declaration for FSM that was instated on January 31, 2020 by President Panuelo. That Declaration has been extended for up to 60 days from that date, according to the Congressional resolution. However, the travel ban is now lifted and visitors have been given the green light to continue their plans for visiting Yap. A Yap State Task Force comprised of health, customs and immigration, public security, port authority and other emergency personnel is continuing to put in place precautionary measures to protect all residents and visitors to Yap. Travelers are asked to be understanding in the event there is additional time required to move through customs and immigration checks.
