‘The Blue Island’ premieres at Guam Museum

The Hunterspeaks Autism Organization and Sasa Productions will present “The ‘Blue Island’ Premiere with a Purpose Event” on April 15 at the Guam Museum, an event highlighting autism on Guam. Proceeds of the event will benefit the HunterSpeaks Autism Organization, Guam’s first autism treatment center.

Sasa Productions produced the short documentary “Blue Island” not only to spread awareness about the disorder but also highlight HunterSpeaks’ journey of bringing the necessary autism services to Guam.

“Blue Island” will premiere during the event a long with other of Sasa Productions’ “films of purpose” These films include: “Beat the Beetle,” “The Kids From Chuuk” and “Chew.” Showcases are from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“Let’s be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.” said Tanya Duenas, co-founder of The HunterSpeaks Autism Organization.

The organization was inspired by Duenas’ son Hunter, who was diagnosed with autism at age 2. She aims to grow the organization large enough to accommodate every child affected by the disorder on Guam. “No child deserves to be left behind.”

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Food, drinks, alcohol, and live entertainment will be provided. This is an eco- friendly event so attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups. We are using the premiere of “Blue Island” as an opportunity to inspire change within the hearts and minds of our community; truly a “Premiere with a Purpose”

E-tickets may be purchased at BlueIslandTickets.com. Admission is $50. This website also contains all information pertaining to the event.
