PBS's favorite dog harvests kid smiles at Guam Memorial

Hospital-bound kids got a surprise Valentines Day treat from a familiar TV character.

Clifford The Big Red Dog visited on the big day and each child received a special Valentine card and gift from their friend.

Clifford, the star of his own PBS show is an advocate for educational television and wants to let everyone know that PBS Guam is a viable option for their children's entertainment.

The visit was made possible by the staff and management of The Guam Educational Telecommunications Corporation better known as PBS Guam. Ina Carillo, General Manager of PBS Guam stated, “Not only does PBS Guam broadcast the best quality and most educational programs on television for kids; we also move beyond the family living room or tablet to engage and inspire children to be ready and eager to learn.” Carillo also mentioned, "It was heartwarming to see smiles from patients, parents and their nurses. Sometimes, simple gestures can go long way to lift your spirit and spark recovery."

Ruth Sabangan, Head Nurse of Guam Memorial Hospital said, "Visits like these when the mascots come bring joy to the kids. When our community makes donations like your books and toys, GMH can really focus on patient’s needs."

"GMH is the public hospital. "We appreciate, and our patients appreciate even the smallest of gestures from our community," said Maria L Perez, Guest Relations Coordinator.
