Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio hosted a breakfast meeting with the Majority members of the Guam Legislature on Friday, making it the first official Government House event.
The meeting was held to discuss the administration’s agenda as well as to further strengthen the working relationship with the newly elected majority.
“I want this to be an opportunity for open and honest communication. We are here to serve the people of Guam, and it is in everyone’s interest for us to work together and find solutions to both the short-term and long-term challenges we will experience,”Leon Guerrero said.

“The lieutenant governor and I are committed to regular meetings with the legislative branch because consistent and honest collaboration is a sure way to produce results that our people expect from all us,” the governor said.
“This morning’s meeting with the Legislative Majority was the first of many more meetings we’ll have moving forward,” said Tenorio. “The Governor and I also look forward to meeting with members of the Minority as a sign of our commitment to working in a bipartisan manner when it comes to addressing the priorities for our people.”
Among the issues the administration discussed with the legislature’s Democratic leadership included addressing government finances, adding additional officers to the police force, plans for economic diversification, job creation, and the impact of the federal shutdown.
