United adds 10,000 seats between Guam and Hong Kong

Beginning Nov. 1, United Airlines customers flying between Guam and Hong Kong will have the choice of six weekly flights with the addition of two evening flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays for both ways. Customers can book their flights to and from Hong Kong immediately for travel beginning on Nov. 1.

This 50 percent increase in seat capacity is designed to meet the growing demand between Guam and Hong Kong during the 2018-2019 winter peak travel season. The additional twice-weekly service aboard the Boeing 737-700 aircraft (12 seats in United Business, 30 seats in United Economy Plus and 84 seats in United Economy) will offer an additional 500 seats per week between the countries, adding approximately 10,000 seats through the winter season.

Sam Shinohara, United’s managing director Airport Operations - Asia/Pacific said, “We are pleased to be able to add seat capacity between Guam and Hong Kong to provide more business and leisure travel options for our customers. This is a direct reflection of the increase in demand between Guam and Hong Kong and long-term partnerships with our business partners such as travel agencies and Guam Visitors Bureau.”

Shinohara added, “We continue to monitor the market and adjust seat capacity to meet the demand in a timely manner to support all routes we serve from our Guam Hub. As Guam’s hometown airline for 50 years, United is fully committed to supporting tourism, Guam’s number one industry and economic driver.”
