Alberto E. Tolentino named acting ethics prosecutor

Chief Justice Katherine A. Maraman has appointed Alberto E. Tolentino as acting Ethics Prosecutor, replacing Bruce Bradley who was fired by the judiciary last month.

Tolentino’s appointment begins on June 11. Tolentino served previously as Magistrate Judge of the Superior Court of Guam two consecutive terms from 2009 to 2017. “Attorney Tolentino has agreed to assist the Judiciary of Guam during this important transition period,” Maraman said. “

This appointment comes as the workload is growing and the process to bring on a permanent ethics prosecutor continues.”

A former Chief Deputy Attorney General of Guam, Tolentino served as Ethics Prosecutor of the Judiciary of Guam from 2001-2006-formerly the Prosecuting Counsel for the Guam Bar Ethics Committee.

Tolentino graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific Mc George School of Law in 1993. The Office of the Ethics Prosecutor is mandated to investigate and prosecute alleged attorney and judicial officer misconduct. The Ethics Prosecutor is an unclassified position accountable to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Guam.
