According to a report by the Associated Press, Republican National Committee Chairwoman  Ronna McDaniel successfully urged President Trump to get rid of casino magnate Steve Wynn as the party's finance chairman after he was accused of numerous instances of sexual misconduct.

This was likely a difficult call for the president, who has faced similar accusations and threatened to sue the accusers, while seeming to confirm on video recordings that Wynn's behavior was his own modus operandi in the past. But McDaniel still appears to be in Trump's good graces.

According to the AP, which misspelled the name of Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo's two-time challenger, “'One reason she [McDaniel] seems to connect with Trump is because she reflects what it is to be a Trump voter,' said Margaret Metcalf, the RNC committeewoman from Guam. 'Ronna recognizes the will of the people.'

McDaniel, 45, greeted Metcalf with a hug and a squeal at the Washington Hilton before an RNC reception Wednesday."

Maybe it's just about money. According to the AP, McDaniel  managed to raise $132.5 million in 2017, the most of any party in a post-election year.

Metcalfe currently runs Guam's Washington, D.C. office with an annual salary of $82,000. Gov. Eddie  Calvo has announced he wants to supplement her efforts by--given standards in the nation's capital--hiring a much more highly paid lobbying firm.
