Gearing up Guam high schoolers for college English work

Legislative resolution recognizes TitanBridge program

Sen. Régine Biscoe Lee, chairwoman of the Committee on Innovation and Economic, Workforce, and Youth Development of the 34th Guam Legislature, welcomes the students and educators of the TitanBridge Program to the Guam Congress Building for the presentation of the certificate of recognition.

The TitanBridge Program is a collaboration between Tiyan High School, the Guam Department of Education and the University of Guam in which Tiyan High seniors receive tutoring during their lunch periods to prepare them for UOG’s English placement test. Those who pass the test are able to take a UOG English course on their high school campus for college credit at no charge to the student.

The Bank of Guam sponsors the program.

Tiyan High School Principal Sophia Duenas: Dr. Sharleen Santos-Bamba, acting associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Guam; Dr. Alicia Aguon, acting associate dean of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at UOG; and Bank of Guam were also recognized.
