It's a very tough world for media startups these days, but Pacific Island Times' celebration of its first anniversary has been recognized by the Guam legislature in a commendatory resolution introduced by Senators Dennis G. Rodriguez Jr. and Joe S. San Agustin and signed by Speaker Benjamin J.F. Cruz and Legislative Secretary Regine Biscoe Lee.

The resolution reads in part: "Whereas Pacific Island Times, appearing as both a print edition and a 24 hour website, with content widely shared on social media, has become an essential read for those seeking intelligent coverage of public affairs throughout the Pacific region and, whereas, this persistent start-up publication has worked hard to provide this service to the public while accomplishing this in a very competitive marketplace...: the Guam Legislature thanks the Pacific Island Times "for its service in providing the people of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, and the Pacific region with a print and online publication of thoughtful and timely coverage of news and opinions from throughout our region."
