Guam records two more Covid deaths



The Joint Information Center reported two more Covid-19 related fatalities, bringing Guam's death toll to 219.


The 218th fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on Oct. 12. The patient was a 52-year-old male, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. He was a known Covid-19 positive patient.


The 219th fatality occurred at the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam on Oct. 13. The patient was a 64-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on Oct. 13.

There are 61 hospital admissions including one pediatric case. Thirty-four patients are unvaccinated, 11 are in ICU and 10 are on ventilators.


The Department of Public Health and Social Services reported 134 new cases of Covid-19 out of 1,348 tests performed on Oct. 12. Seventy-four cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 16,595 officially reported cases, 219 deaths, 2,947 cases in active isolation, and 13,429 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 23.5
