Sailors from the USS Ronald Reagan Strike Group will volunteer at the following events on Guam this week:
Island Girl Power Beautification and Fair Setup – Volunteers will assist IGP staff and volunteers with preparations for IGP’s upcoming “Focus on Life” open house and carnival in addition to maintaining the organization’s thrift store and community garden from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept.25-27 at IGP in Dededo. Saint Dominic’s Senior Care Home Visit – Volunteers will accompany the home’s residents in their daily activities and escort them to lunch from 9:30-11 a.m. Sept. 25-26. Mangilao Senior Citizen Center Cultural Exchange – Volunteers will join the residents in their flag ceremony, exercise, and games from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Mangilao Senior Citizen Center. Catholic Social Services (CSS) Adult Day Care Visit – Volunteers will accompany the clients in their daily activities and assist CSS staff with serving the clients’ lunches from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the CSS Adult Day Care in Macheche, Dededo. CSS Guma Ginefli’e Dementia Day Care Visit - Volunteers will accompany the clients in their daily activities and assist CSS staff with serving the clients’ lunches from 10:10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 at the CSS Guma Ginefli’e Dementia Day Care in Dededo. Piti Village Beautification – Volunteers will assist Piti Mayor’s Office staff with painting and maintenance of the village social hall and water blasting the steps leading to the Piti Guns from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27. Oceanview Middle School Presentations – Volunteers will give classroom presentations about their military careers and participate in the students’ CHamoru class lessons among other activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27. J.P. Torres Success Academy Beautification – Volunteers will assist school personnel with school beautification, mentoring, sharing their interests, and career presentations from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28. Chief Brodie Memorial Elementary School: Community Connection – Volunteers will take part in the school’s “Campus Connection” program during which they will interact with students and give classroom presentations about their military careers from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The Ronald Reagan Strike Group is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region with Ronald Reagan, the ninth Nimitz-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, as the strike group flagship, homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. Ronald Reagan, named after the 40th U.S. president, has over 4,000 Sailors on board, and carries the motto “Peace Through Strength.”
