16 of 841 test positive for Covid-19



Sixteen new cases of Covid-19 were identified out of 841 tests performed on Thursday, May 13.


Six cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,079 officially reported cases of Covid-19 with 139 deaths, 89 cases in active isolation, and 7,851 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.6.



Today, the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) confirmed two separate incidents in which two individuals tested positive for Covid-19. The first positive case was identified as a student at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School. The second positive case was identified as a student attending Jose Rios Middle School.

GDOE, in collaboration with DPHSS, is conducting contact tracing to identify and notify individuals who were in close contact with these individuals. These individuals will be placed in quarantine and/or isolation until they are cleared by DPHSS. Areas of both school campuses have been cleaned and disinfected. Regular hours of operation will continue on Monday, May 17.
